The new Mars Pro 2 utilizes Google TV, an enhanced version of the Android TV platform found on many smart projectors. This provides a user-friendly interface for accessing entertainment, with easy parameter adjustments and smooth access to the Play Store for additional apps. Similar to the Atom, the Bluetooth remote features a Netflix shortcut and includes Google Assistant for voice commands.

The projector is built around DLP display technology with a 0.47-inch DMD chip and an ALDP laser light source, offering 2,450 ISO lumens of brightness. Its onboard algorithms adjust the output according to ambient light conditions, promising "consistently vibrant visuals, day or night."

Users can enjoy 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) images, with the display size ranging up to 200 inches diagonally. However, Dangbei recommends a maximum of 120 inches for the best viewing experience. It also supports HDR10+ and HLG content. The throw ratio is 1.27:1, meaning the projector needs to be 16.6 feet (5.06 meters) from the screen to produce a 180-inch image.

The Mars Pro 2 supports Chromecast and can connect to a console or media player via one of its HDMI 2.1 ports, which includes audio return. It also features two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet LAN, and analog/digital audio outputs. Wireless connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

This model introduces InstanPro AI Image Setup, a suite of image optimization tools that uses a dToF sensor, CMOS camera, and AI algorithms for autofocus, auto keystone correction, automatic image resizing to fit the detected screen, and obstacle detection to avoid image interference. Additionally, it dims the light source when a person steps in front of the projector to protect their eyes.

For smoother action scenes, it includes motion compensation and offers a refresh rate of 60 Hz for 4K and 240 Hz for 1080p, along with a dedicated gaming mode to reduce input lag. The integrated sound system features two 12-W speakers supporting Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS-X for an enhanced audio experience.

Measuring 9.29 x 7.93 x 6.43 inches (236 x 201.5 x 163.2 mm) and weighing 8.8 lbs (4 kg), the Mars Pro 2 is available from May 28 at a suggested retail price of $1,899. However, Dangbei is offering a launch promotion that reduces the price by $400 and includes a free gimbal-style stand, typically priced at $139.
