Hisense XR10 – is this the end of compromises in home cinema?

The home cinema market has long been built on difficult choices. On one hand, huge but very expensive TVs; on the other, projectors that often lost to… a simple lamp in the living room. Hisense’s new model, however, may change the rules of the game. The XR10 is an advanced 4K laser projector that is already generating significant interest at the pre-order stage, mainly due to its very high brightness and extensive capabilities.

Brightness that makes a difference

The XR10’s biggest distinguishing feature is its triple RGB laser light source, generating up to 6000 ANSI lumens. In practice, this means the image remains clearly visible not only in a darkened room, but also in daylight—something that has so far been a weak point for most projectors.

The device displays a 4K UHD image with a diagonal ranging from 65 up to 300 inches, while offering a wide range of projection settings (throw ratio 0.84–2.0). This provides considerable flexibility during installation—you don’t need to perfectly match the projector’s placement to the screen.

Premium-level image quality

The XR10 is not limited to high brightness alone. The projector supports standards such as Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and IMAX Enhanced, resulting in better contrast and more realistic colors.

  • Native contrast: 6000:1
  • Dynamic contrast: up to 60,000:1
  • Color gamut coverage: up to 118% BT.2020

Additionally, the use of an advanced lens (with a multi-element design) and an adjustable aperture allows precise image tuning to match room conditions—from bright action scenes to dark thrillers.

Audio created with sound experts

The built-in audio system was developed in collaboration with Devialet—a brand known for high-end audio solutions. On board, you’ll find a 2.1 configuration:

  • two 8 W speakers
  • 15 W subwoofer

The entire system has also been fine-tuned with the involvement of the Opéra de Paris, suggesting a focus on achieving as natural a sound as possible. The projector also supports Dolby Digital and DTS Virtual:X, making it easy to integrate into more advanced audio setups.

Technology and ease of use

The XR10 runs on the VIDAA OS system, offering access to popular streaming platforms without the need for additional devices. Support for AirPlay 2 and Miracast makes it easy to stream content from other devices.

In terms of connectivity, the projector is very modern:

  • Wi-Fi 7
  • Bluetooth 5.4
  • HDMI 2.1 and 2.0
  • USB 3.0
  • Ethernet (Gigabit)

Also noteworthy is the liquid cooling system, which helps maintain a stable operating temperature while reducing noise—especially important when watching movies.

Price and availability

The XR10 is not a budget device. In pre-order, its price is around $5299, and it is expected to rise to $6999. In Europe, offers are appearing at around €4999.

However, the manufacturer tries to justify this price—a premium audio system is included in the promotional bundle, and the projector targets a segment where it competes more with large OLED TVs than with traditional projectors.

Is it a real alternative to a TV?

Hisense clearly focuses on a simple message: a massive screen without quality compromises. The XR10 offers something that TVs still cannot deliver—a display up to 300 inches while maintaining high brightness and quality.

Will that be enough to convince users to abandon traditional screens? For many—especially those building a home cinema—it may be one of the most complete projectors currently available on the market.
