BenQ LH860ST – short throw projector for simulators and small spaces
A new projector, the LH860ST, has entered the market. It was designed mainly for golf simulators, sports installations, and entertainment in smaller rooms. This is a short throw model, which means it can display a large image even when there isn’t much space between the projector and the screen.

Designed for simulators (especially golf)
One of the more interesting features is the dedicated Golf Mode.
The projector automatically adjusts colors, contrast, and motion to:
make the ball trajectory easier to see,
keep greens and course details looking natural,
ensure smooth motion during swings.
Thanks to low latency and 240 Hz support, the projector also works well with other sports simulators or interactive installations.
Large image in a small room
The LH860ST was designed for spaces where a traditional projector may not work well.
Why?
the short throw allows the projector to be placed close to the screen,
reduced risk of shadows on the image,
easier installation in simulation studios and training rooms.
Additionally, the Screen Fill feature makes it easy to quickly adjust the image ratio to different screen formats.
Easy installation and setup
The projector includes several practical installation features.
Installation advantages:
360° installation (ceiling, floor, or wall),
automatic vertical keystone correction,
2D geometry adjustment,
ready-to-use settings for multi-projector setups (edge blending).
For larger installations, BenQ WBA white balance calibration helps match colors between projectors.
Built for intensive use
The projector was designed for long and reliable operation:
IP6X dust-resistant construction,
24/7 operation capability,
firmware updates via LAN,
remote device management.
Connectivity and features
The projector includes key ports:
HDMI 2.0b
DisplayPort
RJ-45 (network)
RS232
USB-A
It also features a built-in 10 W speaker, and an optional adapter allows wireless image projection.
Who this projector is for
It works best in places such as:
golf and sports simulators,
training studios and entertainment centers,
multimedia installations,
training rooms,
home setups with limited space.
